Apple is renowned for its high standards of data privacy and privacy however, iPhones are still a target for hackers. Criminals can elude sensitive information by stealing data from iPhone apps that collect this information on a daily bases. This includes browsing history photos, passwords, images and the current location.

You can secure your iPhone from malicious apps by using a secure password that you can remember and do not record anywhere (you should already be doing this). Turning off the notification content on the lock screen will stop anyone from accessing your private information without unlocking the phone.

If you want to take it one step further, ensure that you are using the Screen Time passcode feature that allows you to create a custom alphanumeric code, or at least disable access to your four-digit numeric code which will make it much more difficult for a burglar to hack your passcode until they get the right. You can also enable a feature that will erase all data stored on your iPhone after 10 unsuccessful passcode attempts, which will render your device unusable for thieves, though it could be useless for you too if you’re unable to access your iCloud images or other content.

Then, consider installing a trusted mobile security app, such as Clario. It can warn you of dangerous websites, shield your identity from theft on Instagram and other social media, block potentially harmful and annoying ads, increase your privacy with the help of a VPN, and more.
